Royalton Hotel - New York City

This is the hip Royalton Hotel, across the street from the Algonquin and the Iroquois on West 44th Street, Midtown. The Men's Room continues on the theme of slick Schrager/Starck minimalism found throughout the place. (I've never stayed at The Royalton; just like to wander through the lobby and use the facilities.) I mean, have you ever seen a urinal like this (above)? It's trough-style like you'd find in an old gym, except it's all stainless steel, and a waterfall ripples down the back wall whenever someone triggers the detector beam (you can see it at right). How weird is this?

The washbasins (below) are goofy and sort of miss, in my opinion. And it's a very narrow room, so when you've got men washing and urinating, things get a little too close for comfort.
